NEW STANDARDS ADOPTED  

The public is hereby notified that the following standards have been adopted as Saint Lucia National Standards. 

  • SLNS/IEC 60335-2-3:2012 (6th Edition) - Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Particular Requirements for Electric Irons. (MANDATORY)
  • SLNS/IEC 60335-2-25: 2010 Household and  Similar Electrical  Appliances -Safety - Part 2-25: Particular requirements for Microwave Ovens, including combination Microwave Ovens (IEC 60335-2-25: 2010, IDT)  (Appendix II). (MANDATORY) 
  • SLCP 15: 2013 Code of Practice for Establishment and Operation of Early Childhood Development Centres (Appendix III).  (VOLUNTARY)
  • SLNS 57:  2014 (2nd Edition) for Grades of Pumpkin.  (VOLUNTARY)
  • SLNS 105: 2014 Specification for  grades of Cantaloupe. (VOLUNTARY)

Council also approved New Work Item Proposals (NWIP) for the develpment and  adoption of Good Agricultural Codes of Practices to support the strengthening of the agricultural certification programme.  The series of standards will focus on adoption of new standards and revision of existing National Standards :- 

  • Code of Good Agricultural Practices - Production of Small Ruminants (sheep and goats)
  • Code of Good Agricultural Practices - Production of Swine
  • Code of Good Agricultural Practices - Aquaculture
  • Code of Good Agricultural Practices - Broiler Production (poultry)
  • Code of Good Agricultural Practices - Crops
