STANDARDS Link Vol 2 Issue 12 - Technical Committee Launched
A new technical committee, to focus on management services is established. TC18 created in 2013 will operate like 17 other TC’s before it. The first such TC’s was created in 1991 to deal with food, an ubiquitous industry in Saint Lucia.
Technical Committees are an essential process in the work of standards development. A technical committee is established when there is need for a standard on a specific topic that does not fall in the scope an existing TC work programme.
The Management Services Technical Committee consists of experts in the field of management consultancy. The experts will over a period of close to two years, will review, prepare and give technical information which will result in a draft document which may eventually lead to the adoption of a standard or code of practice for related services.
